Terms of Service

The terms governing your CourierSeal account and use of the document-delivery service.

Effective and last updated September 2, 2026.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and CourierSeal LLC (“CourierSeal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to courierseal.com and the CourierSeal fax and document-delivery service (collectively, the “Service”). If you use the Service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes that organization.

By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a contract. You must provide accurate account information, use an email address you control, and keep your email account and verification codes secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and must promptly notify us if you suspect unauthorized use. Accounts may not be sold, transferred, or shared in a way that defeats the Service’s access controls.

2. The Service

CourierSeal provides a workspace for sending and receiving faxes, storing related PDF documents, managing fax contacts and an assigned fax number, recording transmission and access events, and creating delivery certificates. Features and availability may depend on your subscription, account status, assigned number, location, usage, and third-party providers.

CourierSeal may improve, modify, add, or discontinue Service features. We will provide reasonable notice when a material change is expected to substantially reduce paid functionality, when practicable. The Service does not include legal advice, legal process service, records-management advice, or a guarantee that use satisfies a particular legal, regulatory, contractual, or industry requirement.

3. Your documents and instructions

You retain your rights in documents and other content you submit to the Service (“Customer Content”). You authorize CourierSeal and its service providers to host, copy, transmit, process, and create technical or evidentiary records from Customer Content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service, comply with law, and enforce these Terms.

You are solely responsible for:

  • having all rights, permissions, notices, and consents required to upload, store, send, receive, and otherwise process Customer Content;
  • checking destination numbers, recipient details, documents, cover pages, references, and other instructions before sending;
  • the accuracy and legality of sender names, organization names, and other information you enter, which CourierSeal does not independently verify;
  • complying with privacy, confidentiality, professional, recordkeeping, communications, export, sanctions, and other laws that apply to you and your documents; and
  • keeping any independent copies required for your business, legal, or regulatory needs.

Do not use CourierSeal for regulated information unless you have confirmed that the Service, its providers, and any required written agreement meet your obligations. No business associate agreement, data processing addendum, service-level agreement, or other special compliance arrangement applies unless CourierSeal LLC signs it in writing.

4. Acceptable use and fax consent

You must comply with the Acceptable Use Policy. Among other things, you may not send unlawful, fraudulent, harassing, infringing, deceptive, or unsolicited bulk communications; transmit malware; impersonate another person; interfere with the Service; bypass security, usage, or billing controls; or access another customer’s workspace.

You are the sender of each fax you initiate and are responsible for determining whether the recipient has provided any consent required by law. Fax advertisements may be subject to prior-permission, disclosure, and opt-out requirements. CourierSeal does not obtain recipient consent for you or determine whether a particular communication is lawful. You must promptly honor applicable do-not-fax and opt-out requests.

We may investigate suspected abuse and suspend or restrict transmissions to protect recipients, CourierSeal, its providers, and the public. We may preserve and disclose information where reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, respond to valid legal process, or protect rights and safety.

5. Plans, charges, and renewal

Paid plans are recurring subscriptions billed in U.S. dollars through Stripe. The price, billing interval, included usage, and other material purchase terms shown at checkout are part of these Terms. By purchasing a subscription, you authorize Stripe to charge your selected payment method at the disclosed interval until cancellation. You are responsible for applicable taxes that Stripe or CourierSeal is required to collect.

Prices and plan features may change prospectively. A price change will not alter an already-paid billing period and will be disclosed before it applies to a later renewal when required by law. Failed or overdue payments may result in restricted or suspended fax service. CourierSeal does not currently impose automatic usage-based overage charges; we will disclose and obtain any authorization required before introducing such charges.

6. Usage limits

The Service may enforce document-size, format, page, transmission-rate, and monthly usage limits. Current fax submissions must be PDFs of no more than 20 MiB and 350 pages, including a generated cover page. Your displayed monthly allowance combines successfully sent pages, received pages, and pages reserved for pending sends, and resets on a UTC calendar-month basis rather than your billing anniversary.

CourierSeal may reject an outbound fax that would exceed the available allowance. Inbound delivery may cause usage to exceed the allowance, but that does not authorize an overage charge. Limits may change with a plan or Service update, subject to the billing commitments above.

7. Cancellation, fax numbers, and account status

You may manage or cancel a subscription through the Stripe billing portal linked from account settings. Cancellation is scheduled for the end of the current paid period unless a different result is displayed or required by law. You remain responsible for charges incurred before cancellation takes effect. Cancellation does not automatically create a refund; contact support about a billing error or refund request. Any refund will be handled as required by law or as otherwise approved by CourierSeal.

A fax number provided through the Service is assigned for use with your eligible CourierSeal account. You do not acquire ownership of it, and CourierSeal does not currently promise number portability. When fax service ends, the number may be released to the communications provider and later assigned elsewhere. Sending and receiving are disabled after service ends, but eligible historical records remain accessible through the account.

8. Delivery, timing, and third-party services

Fax delivery depends on communications carriers, destination equipment, public and private networks, hosting, storage, email, payment services, and other systems outside CourierSeal’s control. A transmission may be delayed, rejected, duplicated, incomplete, misrouted because of incorrect instructions, or unavailable. Status information may also be delayed while provider events are reconciled.

You must independently account for deadlines and confirm recipient requirements before relying on the Service for important or time-sensitive communications. CourierSeal does not guarantee continuous availability, successful delivery, a particular transmission time, or that a destination is controlled by the intended person. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and may change or discontinue their services.

9. Audit records and document retention

CourierSeal is designed to preserve a durable audit trail. Fax documents, transmission metadata, delivery evidence, document-access records, audit events, and certificate revisions are retained indefinitely, including after subscription cancellation, so historical records can remain accessible and verifiable. Retention is subject to the exceptions described in the Privacy Policy, including applicable legal requirements, valid privacy requests, security and integrity needs, and service-closure procedures.

You should maintain independent copies of any document or record you are required to keep. CourierSeal does not promise that any particular record will remain admissible, legally sufficient, or available without interruption, and deletion may affect later verification.

10. Delivery records and certificates

A delivered status records the delivery network’s reported acceptance by the destination fax endpoint. It does not prove that a particular person received, read, understood, signed, or legally accepted the document. It also does not by itself prove legal service, compliance with a filing deadline, or the identity of the recipient.

A CourierSeal certificate can authenticate CourierSeal’s signed manifest and help detect changes to identified document and delivery facts. A trusted timestamp, when present and verified, timestamps the CourierSeal signature; it is not an independent observation of fax delivery. Certificates do not guarantee admissibility, legal effect, end-to-end encryption, or acceptance by any court, regulator, recipient, or other third party.

11. Privacy and confidentiality

The Privacy Policy explains how CourierSeal handles personal information. CourierSeal uses safeguards designed to protect Customer Content and limits access to authorized purposes, but no storage or transmission system is completely secure. You are responsible for deciding whether the Service is appropriate for the sensitivity of your documents and for limiting information to what is necessary.

12. CourierSeal property

CourierSeal and its licensors own the Service, software, website, designs, branding, documentation, and related intellectual property, excluding Customer Content. Subject to these Terms, CourierSeal grants you a limited, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable right to use the Service for your internal lawful purposes during your eligible account period.

You may not copy, resell, sublicense, reverse engineer, scrape, or exploit the Service; probe or bypass security; use CourierSeal branding without permission; or build a competing service using nonpublic CourierSeal materials, except where a restriction is prohibited by law. If you voluntarily provide feedback, you authorize CourierSeal to use it without restriction or compensation, without identifying you publicly without permission.

13. Suspension and termination

CourierSeal may limit, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address nonpayment, unlawful or abusive activity, a breach of these Terms, security risk, harm to recipients or third parties, provider requirements, legal process, or a threat to the Service. Where practicable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to correct a remediable issue. Immediate action may be necessary for fraud, abuse, security, legal, or operational risks.

You may stop using the Service at any time and may cancel a paid plan as described above. Provisions that by their nature should continue after termination—including payment obligations, ownership, audit retention, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification, and dispute provisions— survive termination.

14. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” COURIERSEAL DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS, IMPLIED, AND STATUTORY WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR SUCCESSFUL IN DELIVERING A PARTICULAR FAX. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES A WARRANTY OR RIGHT THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE EXCLUDED.

15. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COURIERSEAL LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED THAT SUCH DAMAGES ARE POSSIBLE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF COURIERSEAL LLC FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID COURIERSEAL FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. THESE LIMITATIONS APPLY REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF ACTION AND DO NOT APPLY WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT LAWFULLY BE LIMITED.

16. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CourierSeal LLC and its officers, members, employees, and contractors from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, judgments, penalties, and reasonable costs, including attorneys’ fees, arising from your Customer Content, your instructions or transmissions, your violation of law or another person’s rights, or your material breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy. CourierSeal will provide reasonable notice of a covered claim and permit you to control the defense, subject to CourierSeal’s right to participate and approve any settlement that imposes an obligation or admission on CourierSeal.

17. Events beyond reasonable control

CourierSeal is not responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including carrier or provider failures, destination equipment, internet or power outages, natural disasters, labor disputes, governmental action, war, terrorism, epidemics, cyberattacks, or widespread infrastructure failures. This section does not excuse payment obligations already incurred.

18. Changes to these Terms

CourierSeal may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, law, security needs, or business practices. We will post the revised Terms and update the effective date. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we may provide additional notice through the Service or by email. Changes apply prospectively from their stated effective date. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.

19. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Before filing a formal claim, you and CourierSeal agree to try in good faith for 30 days to resolve the dispute by contacting the other party with a description of the issue and requested resolution. This requirement does not prevent either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief or filing a claim before a limitations period expires.

Subject to any law that gives you a right to bring a claim elsewhere, disputes will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts with jurisdiction over Sheridan County, Wyoming, and each party consents to those courts’ personal jurisdiction and venue. These Terms do not require arbitration and do not waive any right to participate in a class action where such a right otherwise exists.

20. General terms

These Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, the Privacy Policy, and any additional written terms presented for a particular plan or service are the entire agreement between you and CourierSeal concerning the Service. If a specific written order signed by both parties conflicts with these Terms, the signed order controls for that conflict.

You may not assign these Terms without CourierSeal’s written consent. CourierSeal may assign them in connection with a merger, reorganization, sale of assets, or by operation of law. If any provision is unenforceable, it will be modified only to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will remain effective. A waiver must be in writing and is not a continuing waiver. The parties are independent contractors, and these Terms do not create a partnership, agency, employment, or third-party-beneficiary relationship.
